  • 11th & 12th Grades

    3 Credits (2 semesters)/1 Credit in Technical English (4 Semesters)/1 Credit Technical Math (4 Semesters)

    Certifications: OSHA 10 Certification/ Automotive Technician Examination (ASE)

    *Fee: required to cover SkillsUSA membership, Auto Mechanics t-shirts, lab fees, and safety glasses.  Students will also have to provide a lock for their lockers.

    *This course has been approved for articulation credit through Crowder College and Ozark Technical College.

    Course Description:

    This course is MLR NATEF Certified in engine repair, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems, and engine performance. Students will master the basics of automotive operation, including tune-ups, brakes, steering, suspension, electronics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and preventive maintenance. Students will gain a solid foundation of knowledge that will prepare them to service tomorrow’s cars. In this class, students will join SkillsUSA, allowing them to compete at certain district and state competitions.
